The members of the network Sikhs-in-Europe will arrange academic network activities (meetings, workshops, conferences, publications, etc.) to propose research studies and present and discuss the results of projects undertaken by the participants.

2010                           
June: The conference "Sikhs in Europe: Migration, Identity and Translocal Practices" was organized at the Centre for Theology and Religious Studies, Lund University, on June 16 to 18. In total 35 doctoral students and researchers from 15 countries participated in the event. Invited keynote lecturer was Prof. Gurinder Singh Mann from University of California, Santa Barbara. The conference was made possible by generous support from The Crafoord Foundation, The Swedish Research Council, The Swedish Council for Working Life and Social Research and The Wenner-Gren Foundations.

September: Members of the NORDCORP project "Sikh Identity Formation: Generational Transfer of Traditions in the Nordic Countries" organize the second project meeting at University of Bergen, September 2 to 4. Invited guests are Prof. Kim Knott from University of Leeds and Prof. Eleanor Nesbitt from University of Warwick.

2009                          
January
: Nordic researchers and network members were granted funding from The Joint Committee for Nordic Research Councils for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NOS-HS) for the NORDCORP project "Sikh Identity Formation: Generational Transfer of Traditions in the Nordic Countries" (2009-2013).

August: Members of the NORDCORP project "Sikh Identity Formation: Generational Transfer of Traditions in the Nordic Countries" organized the first project meeting at Lund University, August 9 to 11. Invited guests were Prof. Eleanor Nesbitt from University of Warwick and Dr. Jonas Otterbeck from Lund University.

2008                         
June: The establishment of the network Sikhs-in-Europe at the exploratory workshop “Sikhs in Europe: History, Religion and Representation”, Lund University, June 13 to 14.

September: Meeting with Nordic scholars for the preparation of a research proposal about Sikhs in the Nordic countries, Lund University, September 11 to 13.

October: Meeting with Italian scholars for the creation of an Italian Research Group in Sikh Studies, Padova University, October 17.

December: Meeting with scholars studying the Sikhs in Southern Europe for discussions about future research collaborations, Lund University, December 12 to 14.
