EXPLORATORY WORKSHOP ON THE SIKHS IN EUROPE: HISTORY, RELIGION AND REPRESENTATION
On June 13 - 14, 2008, the Division for History and Anthropology of Religions at the Centre for Theology and Religious Studies (CTR), Lund University, is organizing an exploratory workshop on Sikh minority groups and the Sikh religion in Europe. The aim of the workshop is to gather leading scholars in the growing international field of Sikh and Punjab studies to map out current research projects on the Sikh history, religion and representation in different European countries and plan for future cooperation and projects on the European level. The workshop should also provide undergraduate and graduate students in Scandinavia an opportunity to establish contacts with leading scholars in the interdisciplinary field of Sikh studies. Themes to be discussed during the meeting will, for instance, concern:
